Ages: 7 to 13

In this Online PD Day Camp, Lindsey, from World-Changing Kids, will be joined by her friends Heather, from Here and Now Studio, and Nancy, from Practice Making Art. The theme for this camp will be Environmental Activism.

We will have amazing conversations about different issues related to this important theme, we will practice yoga and mindfulness, and we will expand our creativity through artistic projects. We will help the kids build their confidence, leadership skills, communication skills, and knowledge of real world issues. And we will provide you (the parent) with some time to yourself … to work or just enjoy a break nearby in the house … knowing that your children are engaged in a meaningful, fun, inspiring activity.

The kids will start their morning with Heather, who will lead the kids in yoga and mindfulness activities. She will also lead kids through making their own fun-to-eat snacks (a list of ingredients will be provided at the time of registration so that parents can stock up ahead of time).

Then for the World-Changing Kids work, Lindsey and the kids will learn about deforestation and the importance of maintaining our tree canopy, and come up with some actions we can all take to help!

Nancy will then guide the kids through simple art based activities that will help them practice being in the moment and trusting their creative self.

The group will be capped at 15 families. The format will be relaxed and understanding of the fact that 2.5 hours of online learning is a lot. There will be breaks between the sessions where the kids will be free to move around and have a snack. We will make sure that we are engaging all the kids in the style of learning that works best for them.

LOGISTICS

The camp will take place through Zoom. The meeting link will be emailed to participants on the Thursday before the camp begins.
