I mailed in our paper petition with 41 signatures on it, including David Suzuki’s, to Leah Gazan’s office last week! As you will notice, you do not need a stamp to send this in. You can write “To Member of Parliament – No Postage Required” where you would normally put a stamp.
Once this petition is received and verified, Leah can read it in the House of Commons. She can read the petition in the House of Commons every time she receives a new package with at least 25 verified signatures (it is recommended that you get 35 just to be safe).
We have created this Google doc with the paper petition and instructions to make it really easy for everyone to do this.
You can also sign our e-petition here.
Let’s raise our voices to make sure the government knows that we don’t want one million cubic metres of radioactive waste stored 1.1 kms from the Ottawa River – where so many of us get our drinking water from!
