Upstanders Academy: where kids build the skills & confidence to change the world by working on real life, community connected, passion projects.
Days: 6 Tuesdays
Time: 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Dates: Feb 2 to Mar 9
Ages: 8 to 13
Price: $120 per family
We will delve into the theme of Environmental Activism and the kids will work on passion projects that will make the world a better place. They will choose the specific topics that they want to work on related to saving our planet and the actions they want to take to help, and I will provide the tools and resources needed to help them achieve their goals.
The possibilities for the actions we can take, and the learning we will do, over the 9 weeks are endless but include such things as: interviewing guest speakers, recording podcasts, making videos, blogging, starting petitions, connecting with other organizations around the world, presenting to local leaders and writing stories and articles.
I will support the children as they guide their own learning. The children will gain confidence and important life skills that will help them become self-motivated changemakers with a life-long love for learning.
