“Walk on the John A. Macdonald Parkway on September 30, 2022
Albert Dumont invites all people across Turtle Island to join him on September 30, 2022. Albert will lead a walk on the John A. Macdonald Parkway, going from the War Museum to Parkdale Ave. and then back again to the museum. The walk, protesting the parkway’s name, will become an annual event continuing until such a time in the future when Macdonald’s name is finally removed from the parkway.
When and where is the walk?
On September 30th, we will meet on the Grounds of the War Museum, at 1 Vimy Place. The event begins at 8:30 am, and the walk begins at 9:00 am. We expect that the event will be over by 11:30 am.”
This family friendly event will include beautiful learning with Albert, a Story Walk featuring the powerful children’s book, “Spirit Bear: Echoes of the Past”, and an opportunity at the end of the walk for people to share their support for renaming the parkway by writing a postcard to the National Capital Commission.
