This is something super cool that I got to work on this year. The amazing school community of St. Cecilia partnered with me to be the first school to take me up on my offer of printing a special edition of my book, “Plant a Garden of Kindness”, for their school. This book consists of 75 Acts of Kindness kids can do in their community to make it a friendlier place, while also strengthening their kindness, empathy and compassion muscles.

For this special edition, each of the classes created a beautiful piece of artwork to be included, and these drawings were interspersed throughout the book, showing the kids that they are powerful and important. The fact that they are now published illustrators helps them to believe that they can do anything they set their heart on to. And the school community gets to work together completing 52 Acts of Kindness! Here is a sample of the beautiful drawings:

This special edition of my book can be set up as a fundraiser for your school! As with everything I do, I had this idea that we could do this as a fundraiser, put it out there and then had to figure out how to make it work! I am so grateful for the amazing School Council at St. Cecilia for all their support while I figured out the logistics of how to set up ordering, how to promote/communicate this to the parents, how to have the orders separated out by homeroom for easy distribution by the office, what the final pricing should be, based on what the final print costs were going to be. This was definitely a learning curve for me. But now I am set up and ready to work with any and all the schools who want to run this fundraiser at their school!
