CAMP DETAILS

Dates: Mon, Dec 27 – Fri, Dec 31
Time: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm EST
Price: $200 / family
Ages: 7 to 13

This camp will include mindful movement, art, creative snack making, social justice actions and learning about Indigenous Culture, History and Brilliance with our special guest, Samantha Beynon. Samantha is the author of a beautiful children’s book – “Sisters Learn Traditional Foods” – that relates to her Nisga’a Ancestry surrounding the oolichan fish. Samantha also runs @Sisters.Hlgiikw, providing Indigenous education that incorporates traditional food. You can check out her Facebook page here.

With Samantha leading the conversations, we will learn about Residential Schools, LGBTQ+ through an Indigenous lens, stereotypes and misconceptions, land acknowledgements and more!

We will then work together on actions we can take to help make things better – this will include writing a letter to our Prime Minister, creating beautiful artwork and putting all of our learning into an online Zine to share with the world. Plus mindful movement breaks and creative snack making.

It is going to be so amazing.
