This awesome Upstanders Academy session includes presenting at a Virtual Symposium at St. Paul’s University hosted by the Research Centre for Social Innovation and Transformation. So exciting!

Time: 4:30 – 5:30 pm

Ages: 8 to 13
Price: $200 per family
We will delve into the theme of Environmental Activism and the kids will work on passion projects that will make the world a better place. They will choose the specific topics that they want to work on and the actions they want to take to help save our planet, and we will provide the tools and resources needed to help them achieve their goals. With the end result being a presentation at the Symposium on November 14.
The format for the Symposium is still being finalized, but our contribution could include a booklet, a slide show, a video and a live dialogue with participants through Zoom on November 14.
The possibilities for the actions we can take, and the learning we will do, over the 9 weeks are endless but include such things as: interviewing guest speakers, recording podcasts, making videos, blogging, creating fundraising campaigns, starting petitions, connecting with other organizations around the world, and writing stories.
We will support the children as they guide their own learning. The children will gain confidence and important life skills that will help them become self-motivated changemakers with a life-long love for learning.
LOGISTICS
The program will take place through Zoom. The meeting link will be emailed to participants on the Tuesday before the program begins.
