In this online summer camp, Lindsey from World-Changing Kids will be joined by her friend Meg from Wordplay Workshops. We will talk with the kids about environmental activism, writing, social justice, creativity, and zines. We will brainstorm actions we can all take to help our planet, and then we will come up with ways that each child can express those ideas in the zine. We will then create this zine with all the children’s contributions and each family will get five copies of the zine to share with friends and family.

Through this awesome camp, we will help the kids build their confidence, leadership skills, communication skills, and knowledge of real world issues. And we will provide you (the parent) with some time to yourself … to work or just enjoy a break nearby in the house … knowing that your children are engaged in a meaningful, fun, inspiring activity. We are seriously so excited for this camp.

The group will be capped at 10 families so that each child gets to have a significant part in the creation of this zine. The format will be relaxed and understanding of the fact that 2 hours of online learning is a lot. There will be breaks where the kids will be free to move around and have a snack. We will make sure that we are engaging all the kids in the style of learning that works best for them.

The camp will take place through Zoom. The meeting link will be emailed to participants on the Sunday before the camp begins.
