In collaboration with Tag Along Toys – a most fantastic toy store in our community – we have designed weekly workshops where kids can take action to save our planet!

Tag Along Toys offers free wrapping when you purchase a present from them.  Patti, the awesome owner of Tag Along Toys, and I recently learned that not all wrapping paper is recyclable and decided that we needed to do something about this.  So, we set up these weekly workshops where kids can come in to the store to decorate brown craft paper, paper bags and newspaper to be used for the store’s gift wrapping service.

This is how you can work with friends, business owners and leaders in your community to change the world. We all have the power to make things better.  This is something that kids could do in their hometowns, with their local toy stores!  Check out the videos and photos below for inspiration.

We held our first workshop this past Sunday, and it was a huge success.  The kids got really creative with their artwork, as you can see in the below video.  These bags are made from 100% recycled paper … so no new trees were cut down to make them. Woo hoo!

And we made a fun Facebook live video during the workshop.  With loads of input from the kids – including the hot dog stand fight scene happening in the background!
