This is the CHEO Edition of our book, “Plant a Garden of Kindness, A Child’s Guide to Filling a Year with Weekly Acts of Kindness”. Proceeds from this special edition are split with the CHEO Foundation.
This book will help you teach your children, kindness, empathy, compassion, engagement and peace-building. And you will be doing an Act of Kindness just by purchasing this book, as a portion of the proceeds are donated to the CHEO Foundation.

The book is illustrated by 27 awesome world-changing kids!
There are 75 Acts of Kindness in the book. The goal is that you select 52 and do one a week for a year. By the end of the year, you will have strengthened your kindness, empathy and compassion muscles and built a friendlier, more resilient community!
This book differs from our original edition, as some of the Acts of Kindness have been changed to be specific to CHEO.
Some of the Acts of Kindness have a hand print with them. This means that you are to try to learn the name of a new friend. There is then a Friend List at the back of the book where you write down your new friend’s name and their parents’ names and email so that you can invite them out to play again – because that is how you build community.
Two important things in this photo:
1. #CHEOKindness – we would love it if you could post photos of your family completing the Acts of Kindness in the book and use this hashtag. We love to see what all the awesome world-changing kids are up to and we want to be able to celebrate all the kindness. Also, your photos will inspire other families to complete more Acts of Kindness.
2. Friend List – this is the page where you write down your new friends and their contact info so that you can invite them out to play again. This is how you build the village that we all need when raising our kids!
